Let This Mind Be in You (Phil. 2:5-8)

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Philippians 2:5-8 NKJV

Christ went from the highest of possible highs to the lowest of possible lows. He left Heaven and became a human being, then He died the most horrific and shameful death imaginable — crucifixion on a cross. As His followers, we need to have the same humble, self-sacrificing attitude Jesus did. There is no place for pride in His kingdom. Empty yourself, give up your rights, put others first. This is the mind of Christ which must be in you.

Seeking and Saving the Lost (Luke 19:10)

“…for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Luke 19:10 NKJV

Jesus came for the express purpose of seeking and saving the lost. He proactively searched out individuals who needed salvation. He didn’t wait for them to come to Him, He went out to them. Why? So that He might save them. As His disciples, we should have the same goal — to seek and to save that which was lost.

Christ Our Intercessor (Heb. 7:25)

Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
Hebrews 7:25 NASB

Christ intercedes for the saints. This means that He stands on our behalf before God in Heaven, giving us access to God. And He does this forever. Though Christ’s death on the cross is final, His saving work on behalf of His people is ongoing. Praise His holy name!

Christ in You (Col. 1:27-28)

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 1:27-28 KJV

Christ in you — what does that mean? It means to imitate Christ, to have His character as your own. It means to love and submit to God in the same way Jesus did. Ask yourself today, “Is Christ in me?” This is the hope of glory!
